Oversized cargo: agricultural machinery secured on a low-loader semi-trailer

Oversized cargo transport

Moving oversized cargo takes more than the right vehicle. The cargo dimensions, weight, centre of gravity, loading conditions and every restriction along the route must be assessed precisely.

  • Individual cargo assessment
  • Route and special permit planning
  • Transport in Lithuania and Europe

When standard transport is not enough

Non-standard cargo needs an individually planned solution

Oversized cargo transport is needed when the dimensions, weight or structure of the cargo do not fit standard transport conditions. In such cases the right vehicle has to be chosen, the loading assessed, the route planned and the necessary special permits arranged.

Erabalta coordinates the whole process, from the first cargo assessment to safe delivery in Lithuania or elsewhere in Europe.

  • Individual cargo assessment

We analyse the dimensions, weight, structure, support points and load securing options.

  • Choosing specialised transport

We select the transport solution that best fits the cargo specification and loading conditions.

  • Route and special permits

We assess road restrictions and coordinate the documents needed for the transport.

  • Control of the transport

We coordinate loading, transport and delivery with every partner involved in the process.

What cargo do we carry?

Solutions for all kinds of non-standard cargo

The right transport solution for oversized cargo depends on more than its size. We assess the structure, weight distribution, support and securing points, loading options and the whole planned route.

  • Industrial equipment

Production lines, machine tools, equipment modules and other non-standard industrial cargo.

  • Tanks and process equipment

Large-diameter tanks, reservoirs, silos and all kinds of process system components.

  • Agricultural and construction machinery

Oversized machines, implements, equipment and their parts.

  • Steel structures

Long, wide or irregularly shaped structures and prefabricated elements.

  • Energy components

Equipment and structural parts that need an individually planned transport solution.

  • Boats and other special machinery

Irregularly shaped cargo that ordinary transport cannot load, secure or carry.

Transport options and conditions are assessed individually for every load.

How does the transport work?

Every stage is planned in advance

Oversized cargo transport needs careful preparation, coordination of everyone involved and constant control of the transport.

  1. Cargo analysis

We assess the cargo dimensions, weight, structure, weight distribution, securing points and loading conditions.

  2. Transport and route planning

We choose a suitable vehicle and assess road restrictions, clearances and possible alternative routes.

  3. Special permits and extra conditions

We coordinate the special permits needed for the transport and, where required, extra safety measures or escort vehicles.

  4. Loading, transport and delivery

We coordinate loading, load securing and delivery, controlling the transport all the way to the final unloading point.

Cargo assessment

What do we need for an accurate quote?

The more technical information we receive at the start, the more accurately we can assess the transport options, plan the route and anticipate the special permits needed.

Send cargo details
  • Cargo dimensions and weight

Give the exact length, width, height and total weight and, if known, the position of the centre of gravity.

  • Technical drawings or photos

Drawings and photos help us assess the shape of the cargo and its support, securing and lifting points.

  • Loading method

We need to know whether the cargo will be loaded by crane, forklift, over a ramp or with other specialised equipment.

  • Loading and delivery addresses

Exact addresses are needed to check the route, site access and possible road restrictions.

  • Site and access conditions

Tell us about gate width, yard size, surface and other restrictions that affect vehicle manoeuvring.

  • Preferred transport dates

Give the planned loading date and the time by which the cargo must reach the delivery point.

Missing some of the information? Send what you have and we will help you work out what else is needed.

Other transport options

Related services

Depending on the cargo structure, its hazard class and the scope of the whole project, we can offer additional or alternative transport solutions.

Extendable Mega trailers

Semi-trailers for taller and wider cargo that extend to 350 cm wide, with a loading height of up to 320 cm.

ADR dangerous goods transport

Transport of dangerous goods according to their classification, the safety requirements that apply and the route conditions.

Planning to move oversized cargo?

We will assess your cargo and plan the right solution

Send us the cargo dimensions, weight, loading and delivery addresses and any photos or technical drawings you have. We will assess the transport options, the route and the conditions needed for the transport.
