Pipes held in place by stanchions on a flatbed semi-trailer

Cargo transport with stanchions across Europe

We carry long, tubular and other cargo that needs side stability on specially equipped stanchion trailers. We assess the cargo dimensions, weight, layout and securing conditions to choose a safe transport solution.

  • Stanchion trailers
  • Load securing planned for each load
  • Transport in Lithuania and Europe

When are stanchions needed?

Extra stability for awkwardly shaped cargo

Stanchions are vertical steel posts that fit into special sockets on an open flatbed semi-trailer. They help stabilise long, cylindrical, oversized and other cargo that could shift sideways.

Stanchions give extra side support, but they do not replace the main load securing equipment. Straps, chains, dunnage and other solutions are chosen according to the structure, dimensions, weight and weight distribution of each load.

When is this solution used?

  • Awkward cargo shape

Extra supports may be needed when the shape of the cargo does not allow it to sit stably on the trailer bed alone.

  • Great length or a cylindrical shape

Stanchions help stabilise pipes, steel profiles, timber packs and other long cargo.

  • Additional safety requirements

Stanchions can be used as an extra measure to protect the cargo and other road users.

  • Specific client needs

Additional side securing can also be provided to meet specific client or cargo preparation requirements.

After assessing the cargo structure, dimensions and loading conditions, we choose the right vehicle, stanchion layout and load securing method.

How is the transport organised?

From cargo assessment to safe delivery

We choose an individual transport and load securing solution for every load, based on its structure, dimensions, weight and loading conditions.

  1. We assess the cargo

We review photos and technical data of the cargo: dimensions, weight, shape, weight distribution and the planned support points.

  2. We choose the trailer and stanchion layout

We work out which open flatbed semi-trailer suits best and which sockets the steel stanchions should be fitted in.

  3. We plan the load securing

Based on the cargo structure, we choose straps, chains, dunnage and other securing solutions. Cargo stability is checked before departure.

  4. We organise the transport

We agree the loading and delivery times, the route and the unloading conditions and make sure the cargo travels smoothly to its destination.

What information should an inquiry include?

To choose the right semi-trailer, stanchion layout and load securing method, please include the key information about the cargo and the planned transport with your inquiry.

The more accurate the information you provide, the faster we can assess the transport options and suggest the right solution.
